The
Weetag
is the
newest addition to our family of miniature, low cost data loggers. It
incorporates a larger memory for 32000 values, a pressure sensor to log
depth and, for the larger models, an RF communication link to facilitate
downloading the data. The Weetag
comes in five different packages to fit perfectly specific applications.
The smallest version,the Weetag
Lite,
is an ultra miniature data logger with a weight of a little more than 1
gram. It logs temperature in the EEPROM memory where the data is kept
safe even after the battery has provided all its energy for the mission.
The smallest temperature & depth data logger, the
Weetag
Slim, is barely bigger with a weight of only
1.7 grams.
All the Weetags can be bought for temperature recording only with the
depth values encrypted.
In order to spread the cost of acquiring the tags over several budget
years, a special licensing arrangement can be made where the Weetag are
bought with the depth values encrypted. The loggers can be missioned to
take both temperature and depth measurements, can be deployed and once
recovered, the data is downloaded with the encrypted depth measurements.
An access code can then be bought for all the lot to decrypt the depth
values if required or if the number of recovered loggers justify the
additional cost of getting the depth information.

where size is not critical. It has a
good RF link communication distance and enough battery power to
last several years.
It has a smooth casing that is well suited for internal marking
of large fish. It can also be secured to an object with the help
of the two mounting holes on both ends. |

The WeeCod
should be the first choice for fish tagging and
general temperature and depth monitoring. It has a fair RF link
communication distance, enough battery power to last a few years
and is the lowest cost of the temperature / depth loggers.
It has the same dimensions as the
iBCod. The side wings can be cut off to
get a cylindrical shape that can be used for internal fish
tagging.

the application. The Weetag RF Slim is the smallest RF logger for fish tagging. It has a fair RF link
communication distance and enough battery power to last for one
or two missions.
It has a smooth casing that is well suited for internal marking
of smaller fish once the wings are cut off. It can also be
secured to an object with the help of the two mounting holes on
both ends.

The communication with the Weetag Slim is done with a special
connector positioned over the contact area. Once missioned, the
contact area is made waterproof again by applying a thin layer
of silicone sealant provided with the tags. Since this method of
communication is more complicated than just RF, both
Weetag Slim
and Weetag Lite should be used where miniaturisation and extreme
light weight are of prime importance and the
Weetag RF Slim
would be too big.

The communication with the Weetag
Lite is done with a special

The Weetag Lite Collar is
specially made for tagging small mammals around their neck. A
plastic coated stainless wire is passed through the mounting
holes and secured with a small metal sleeve crimped on the wire.
Since the crimp is under the Weetag Collar, it cannot hurt the
animal.
